Mallory Park MRO

After two wet practice days at Mallory, race day dawned dry and bright, so the wet set up had to be abandoned and a dry one established.
Warm up was uneventful and a reasonable time was obtained. A quick check-over of the bike, a change ot tyres, and it was back out for the 18 minutes of qualifying.

Everything was going well, and Jeremy had established a front row position, when he disappeared and the pit crew got worried. Thanks to Gary Hardy for the update - he'd parked it by the bus stop.
The pit crew ran back to the awning, awaiting a disaster. Jeremy got the bike back and reported "It's stopped!".
The pit crew went to work as the bike had to be totally stripped to find the problem. After a serious investigation, nothing could be found which would have caused the problem, which was more worrying than finding something.

The bike was rebuilt and started - thank goodness it did! The only theory now was that the stoppage was caused by fuel starvation, although there was plenty of fuel in the tank. Checks were made to the tap and the non-return valve, and after that, all we could do was hope!

Jeremy got away to a good start, circulating in the front group for the first few laps trying desperately not to make a mistake and get tangled up with the other riders as the team knew a top 12 place would give him the championship.
As the race went on, Jeremy slowly dropped down the field as caution prevailed.
At the start of the last lap he was in 10th place and the cheeky pillock sat up, waving to the crowd, for the whole of the last lap, knowing that he was to become the MRO 250 champion.

Champagne corks popped in the awning and Jeremy chased most members of the team round the paddock soaking them - photos to follow!
He was then presented with a tin a lager by championship contender Darren Thomas, who finished 3rd in the championship.

We are unsure whether this tin was spiked with something as Jeremy burst into fits of laughter after this and was totally useless at clearing up! If all it takes is a can of lager to get him drunk we will take him out any time!!
