So onto 1987 Pete recalls

" I was still with Mick this year and the same FZ750 but this time with a bolt on factory kit, and plans to do some of the World F1 rounds. We set off for a month on the roads, firstly to Misano for the Italian round of the F1. We finished 18th and became millionaires over night!! Ok then we won £580. Then a week in Austria spending our winnings and re building the engine that Mick had blown up practice. Onto the Hungaroring in Hungary where we finished 15th- a good result given the competition. Next was the TT for the first and last time for me. We now know we took too many bikes. We took a 750,two 600's and a 250 Rotax. Lots of breakdowns but we did finish 5th in the 600 race. I went to the Manx with Martin Birkinshaw.

1988 was a quiet year and Martin was lying 2nd on my Rotax, to Phillip McCallen when a £5 disc valve broke.

1989 was the year I helped Gary Thrush for a little while on a Tilston's RC30.

1990 I had this crazy idea to do the Manx MYSELF!! So I got the old Rotax out of the garage, applied for my licence and went to meetings most weekends to lose my 'flapper jacket'."
